Pyramids in Egypt

Previously, ancient Egyptians built tombs for pharaohs and queens. The tradition of pyramid building began in ancient Egypt as a refinement of the idea of a Mastaba or a platform covering the royal tomb. Later, several mastabas stacked began to be used. Today, the pyramids are counted among the archaeological wonders of the world.

Some well-known pyramids in Egypt are as follows:

The great pyramid of Giza
Giza, one of several cemeteries that served the old city is home to an amazing group of pyramids of Egypt and the famous Sphinx. The three great pyramids of Giza are as follows:

Khufu’s Pyramid
The only surviving ancient wonders of the world, Kheops’s Pyramid is high at a height of 481 feet. The pyramid was built around 2589-2566 BC over thirteen hectares of land

Khafre’s Pyramid
Khafre, the son of Cheops, who was also known as Chephren, led the construction of the second largest pyramid at Giza complex, which includes the Sphinx, a funerary temple and a valley Temple. Built around 2558-2532 BC, the most characteristic of Khafre 's Pyramid is the highest layer of smooth stones that are the only housing stones on a pyramid of Giza. From limestone and red granite was used to build the temple.

Menkaure

The Pyramid of Djedefre
The Pyramid of Djedefre is located 5 km north of Giza at a site now known as Abu Roash. That pyramid was left open or outside the stone quarry by thieves, nobody knows, but little remains of the superstructure of the pyramid. Estimate place of origin is approximately 380 feet; stones and jacket have indicated a strong possible angle of 60 degrees.

The pyramid of Teti
The masonry base of the pyramid of Teti has been aggregated in the blocks of stone and coated with a fine limestone. Measuring 78.5 metres later, it rose to a height of 52.5 meters. Today, masonry base was exposed, because it collapsed in the rounded mound of stones as we see

The pyramid KHENTKAUES

Built on the pier limestone pyramid Neferirkare, the pyramids of the pharaoh Khentkaues are located in Abousir. The core four-meter-high pyramid is made of three layers and linked to mortar made of clay. The entrance of the pyramid is near ground level in the middle of the northern wall.
