Location Egypt is situated in the north-east of Africa, separated from southeastern Europe through the Suez Canal. The Mediterranean Sea forms its northern coast, and Palestine, Israel, Sudan and Libya are the neighboring countries of Egypt. Capital Cairo, the capital of Egypt, has the highest population density in Egypt. It houses the Egyptian government and administration, and is famous for its nightlife and ancient monuments. People The 2006, census estimates Egypt’s population to be around 73671661. The majority of Egyptians are Muslims, and Egypt is a secular country which has democracy and freedom in its constitution. The people, though traditional and religious, are warm and welcoming to visitors. |
